Manini`owali Phase 3, Kukio’s latest release of undeveloped Homesites, offers Owners a number of Design Guideline revisions unavailable to previous Phases. Working with the Developer, we designed a concept home for Lot 16 which sits atop a small yet prominenet ridge with gorgeous panoramic views of Haleakala, Kua Bay, and the Kohala Coast. Envisioned as a contemporary tropical oasis rich in natural materials, the design embodies the vernacular architecture of the tropics. Expansive openings, deep overhangs, landscaped courtyards and water features are used throughout the residence to help naturally ventilate and cool the interior spaces.
